The practice of water-colour painting
An instructional manual on watercolour technique written by the English critic A. L. Baldry and published by Macmillan in London in 1911 for students and amateur painters. The 36 colour plates reproduce landscape studies — wooded banks, cliffs and misty water — in loose washes, wet-blotted foliage and limited earth-and-blue palettes, useful as textures, atmospheric backgrounds and examples of brush-mark handling.
