The improvement of towns and cities; or, The practical basis of civic aesthetics
Charles Mulford Robinson's 1913 handbook on civic aesthetics, issued in New York by G. P. Putnam for municipal officials, planners, and civic improvement societies. The indexed images are printer's ornaments rather than city views: symmetrical black-line tailpieces of interlaced scrollwork and a triangular vignette of a putto among flowering vines, usable as chapter breaks, borders, and spot decoration.
