Bobbins of Belgium : a book of Belgian lace, lace-workers, lace-schools and lace-villages
Charlotte Kellogg's 1920 account of Belgian lace-making, its schools, villages and wartime relief work, published in New York and London by Funk & Wagnalls for American readers supporting the Brussels Lace Committee. Halftone photographs show lace edgings, flounces and net grounds shot white against black, giving flat, high-contrast floral scrollwork, scalloped borders and repeating mesh usable as pattern fills and rules.
