Historic homes of New England
A survey of colonial and Federal houses in New England, written and photographed by Mary Harrod Northend and published by Little, Brown in Boston in 1914 for antiquarians and early-twentieth-century decorators. The 134 halftone plates record parlors, hallways, staircases and mantels furnished with period pieces, giving reference for paneling profiles, wallpaper and textile patterns, and window and fireplace arrangements.
