Interesting houses of New England
A 1915 Boston survey of colonial and early-republic dwellings in New England, published by Burroughs & Company for antiquarians, architects, and readers of local history. The plates are halftone photographs of clapboard and shingled houses shot from the road or lawn, showing gambrel and lean-to roofs, central chimneys, shuttered sash windows, doorway hoods, and bare or leafy trees; useful for period architectural detail, silhouettes, and grainy grey tonal backgrounds.
