Old cottages, farm houses, and other half-timber buildings in Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Cheshire
An architectural survey of half-timbered vernacular buildings in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Cheshire, compiled by James Parkinson and architect Edward Augustus Ould and published by B. T. Batsford in London in 1904 for architects, builders and antiquarians. The plates are photographs and pen drawings of cottages, farmhouses and manor fronts, recording black-and-white timber framing in strong graphic patterns — chevrons, quatrefoils, lozenge panels, gabled rooflines, leaded casements and tile-hung roofs usable as pattern and silhouette material.
