Gardens of celebrities and celebrated gardens in and around London
Jessie Macgregor's 1918 survey for Hutchinson of London, describing and painting the gardens attached to houses of notable residents in and around the city, aimed at British garden enthusiasts and readers of topographical writing. The colour plates are loose watercolours of lawns, gravel paths, flowering borders and brick house fronts seen through trees, useful for foliage textures, muted green and brick palettes, and soft garden backgrounds.
