The English village church; exteriors and interiors
A 1921 architectural survey of English parish churches by American architect Alfred Hopkins, published in New York by W. Helburn for architects and church builders. The 122 halftone plates are photographs of stone naves, towers, porches and lychgates seen across churchyards, plus interiors, printed with coarse grain and heavy shadow that suits high-contrast silhouette and texture work.
