Sketches of early American architecture
A 1922 portfolio issued by The American Architect in New York, gathering Otto R. Eggers's on-site pencil and pen drawings of colonial and early Federal buildings in Philadelphia, Providence and other eastern towns, for practicing architects and draftsmen. The 55 plates are vertical street views in dense black hatching: brick facades, arched windows, iron gates, stepped stoops and bare branches, with small figures for scale.
