Old New England houses
A survey of colonial and early-republic dwellings in New England, written by journalist Albert G. Robinson and published by Charles Scribner's Sons in New York in 1920 for antiquarians, architects, and early preservationists. Ninety-two halftone photographs show clapboard and shingled farmhouses, gambrel and saltbox roofs, doorways, chimneys, and fenced yards under heavy trees, captioned with town names; useful for vernacular building silhouettes, window and door proportions, and grainy black-and-white plate texture.
