The Royal institute of painters in water colours
A 1906 Studio special number edited by Charles Holme, surveying the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours for London and New York collectors and art students. Forty-four colour plates reproduce English watercolours: dense summer foliage, cities at dusk under wide skies, rain-swept moorland, and a piping faun, offering washed atmospheric gradients, muted earth-and-gold palettes, and loose landscape textures.
