Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Bullard, Francis, 1862-1913, Winthrop, Grenville Lindall, 1864-1943 · 1916 · Boston, Priv. print. [The Merrymount press] · 86 pictures

A privately printed 1916 museum catalogue from the Merrymount Press recording Francis Bullard's collection of J. M. W. Turner's Liber Studiorum prints, bequeathed to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, for curators and print collectors. The plates are sepia mezzotint-and-etching landscapes: massed trees, river valleys, bridges, ruins and shepherds, with broad tonal washes and dark silhouettes useful for atmospheric backgrounds and monochrome texture.
