Early English portrait miniatures in the collection of the Duke of Buccleuch;
A 1917 Studio Ltd. catalogue of the Duke of Buccleuch's English portrait miniatures, compiled by H. A. Kennedy under Charles Holme's editorship for collectors and students of miniature painting. The plates are colour reproductions of oval head-and-shoulders portraits from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, showing curled wigs, lace cravats, armour and jewelled bodices against dark or blue grounds, with gold rims; useful for oval frames, period costume detail and rich dark-ground colour.
