Modern woodcuts and lithographs by British and French artists
A 1919 Studio special number edited by C. Geoffrey Holme with commentary by Malcolm C. Salaman, surveying contemporary British and French woodcuts and lithographs for printmakers and collectors. Plates run from tall Japanese-style colour panels of fighting cocks and tumbling figures to flat-toned townscapes and night streets, useful for limited palettes, grainy block texture and silhouetted architecture.
