Peasant art in Russia
A 1912 survey of Russian folk decorative arts issued by The Studio in London and New York under Charles Holme's editorship, aimed at designers, craft revivalists and collectors. Halftone photographs and plates record carved distaffs and mangle boards, embroidered towels with fringed ends, printed and woven textiles, and painted woodwork, supplying rosette, chip-carved and heart-scroll motifs for borders and repeats.
