Peasant art in Austria and Hungary
A 1911 survey of Austrian and Hungarian folk craft issued by The Studio in London and New York, edited by Charles Holme with texts by A. S. Levetus and Aladár Kriesch for collectors and designers of the period. Colour plates record embroidery, woven textiles, and painted ornament: dense interlocking geometric fretwork, flower-and-stem borders, and black grounds broken by red, useful as repeat patterns and palettes.
