A 1910 special number of The Studio, edited by Charles Holme with text by miniature scholar George Charles Williamson, surveying European portrait miniatures for collectors and art students in London and New York. The 81 halftone plates are oval and round bust portraits, many in beaded or chased metal bezels, offering ready-made cameo frames, powdered-wig silhouettes and soft tonal vignettes.
