A 1915 trade reference issued by the New York decorating firm Clifford & Lawton, gathering photographs of furnished rooms arranged by historical furnishing period for decorators, architects and their clients. The 288 halftones are dim interior views of drawing rooms, libraries and halls, useful for period furniture silhouettes, patterned carpets and wall panelling, plus heavy chiaroscuro suited to high-contrast reworking.
