Japanese gardens
A 1912 account of Japanese gardens written by Harriet Osgood Taylor and illustrated by the English watercolourist Walter Tyndale, published in New York by Dodd, Mead for Western garden enthusiasts and armchair travellers. The 27 tipped-in colour plates are loose, high-key watercolours of blossom banks, pines, stone steps and water, framed by printed borders — useful for soft foliage texture, pale skies and garden colour keys.
