Exhibition of contemporary German art; the Copley society of Boston 1909
An exhibition catalogue for the Copley Society of Boston's 1909 show of contemporary German painting, edited by Paul Clemen with G. E. Maberly-Oppler and printed in Berlin by G. Stilke in 1908 for American gallery visitors and collectors. The 64 halftone plates reproduce oil paintings—portraits, nudes, interiors, street crowds—in soft grey tonal masses useful for dark-toned backgrounds, figure silhouettes and period costume reference.
