A handful of silver; six stories of silversmiths
Six historical short stories about silversmiths, written by Horace Townsend and issued in 1902 by the Gorham Company of New York as an illustrated gift volume for patrons of its silverware. The color plates are flat, painterly scenes: slender tree trunks against a bay, a colonnaded marble terrace, a workshop interior, useful for muted period palettes and vertical framing devices.
