Aerobatics
Horatio Barber's Aerobatics, issued in New York by R.M. McBride in 1918, explains stalls, spins and loops to wartime pilots and flying instructors. Halftone photographs and retouched line diagrams show biplanes tilted, banking and inverted against blank sky, often paired to compare attitudes, with lettered keys and caption bars supplying ready-made silhouettes, motion arcs and diagrammatic layouts.
