Korean Buddhism, history-condition-art : three lectures
Three lectures on the history, state, and art of Korean Buddhism by the American anthropologist Frederick Starr, published in Boston in 1918 for a general lecture-going and scholarly readership. The 39 plates are coarse-screen halftone photographs of temple halls, hanging painted banners, gilded Buddha figures, and assembled monks, useful as grainy high-contrast textures and as reference for temple roof lines and pantheon imagery.
