Korean games : with notes on the corresponding games of China and Japan
Stewart Culin's 1895 ethnographic survey of Korean games, with Chinese and Japanese parallels, published by the University of Pennsylvania for scholars and collectors. Brush-drawn plates show children and adults playing — kite-making, tops, rope games, acrobats — in thin ink outline with flat washes of red, green and pink, leaving generous white space useful for figure cut-outs and line motifs.
