The châteaux of Touraine
A travel and architectural history of the Loire valley châteaux, written by Maria Hornor Lansdale and illustrated by Jules Guérin, published in London by Eveleigh Nash in 1906 for English-speaking tourists and readers. Guérin's plates are stippled ink drawings tinted in flat washes of ochre, slate and green, showing turrets, chimneys, moat reflections and lamplit windows at dusk—useful for muted colour palettes and silhouetted rooflines.
