Asheville city plan

Nolen, John, 1869-1937 · 1922 · Asheville, North Carolina, [City Planning Commission] · 5 pictures

A 1922 city planning report for Asheville, North Carolina, prepared by landscape architect and planner John Nolen for the city's planning commission and its officials. The plates are folding lithographed survey maps in thin black line with contour hatching, hand-lettered titles, and keyed legends using tints and cross-hatch patterns, with parks, school grounds and proposed streets picked out in red and green; useful for street-grid textures, map cartouches and legend blocks.
