Proposed improvements for Newport;
A 1913 civic planning report prepared by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. for the Newport Improvement Association in Rhode Island, printed at the University Press in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and addressed to town officials and property owners. Halftone photographs show empty residential streets, elm canopies, sidewalks, fences and utility poles, offering designers gray-toned townscape backgrounds, tree silhouettes and receding road perspectives.
