Modern civic art; or, The city made beautiful
Charles Mulford Robinson's treatise on city planning and civic improvement, published by Putnam in New York in 1918 for municipal officials, architects, and civic betterment societies in American cities. The plates are halftone photographs of embanked rivers, bridges, tree-lined boulevards, quays, and park entrances, mostly wide horizontal views with strong tonal contrast, useful for cityscape silhouettes, riverfront perspectives, and coarse-screen grey textures.
