A summer in Touraine;
A travel account of the Loire valley by the English journalist Frederic Lees, issued in 1909 by A. C. McClurg in Chicago and Methuen in London for anglophone readers touring France. The plates are signed watercolours of châteaux such as Luynes, with conical-roofed round towers seen past foreground vines, rubble walls and cut timber, worked in pale washes and loose pencil lines that leave the paper open at the edges.
