Absolute key to occult science. The tarot of the Bohemians. The most ancient book in the world. For the exclusive use of initiates
An English translation of Papus's 1889 Tarot des Bohémiens, issued in London by Chapman and Hall in 1892, setting out a kabbalistic system for reading the tarot for readers who called themselves initiates. The illustrations are mostly line diagrams — numbered triangles, interlaced hexagrams, circles and squares annotated with Hebrew letters — plus a denser engraved plate combining the SATOR word square, four evangelist beasts and sephirothic dot patterns, useful as schematic geometry and esoteric ornament.
