A guide to the Department of coins and medals in the British museum
A gallery guide to the British Museum's coin and medal collection, compiled by keeper George Francis Hill and published by the Trustees in London in 1922 for museum visitors and student collectors. The 55 plates are high-contrast line engravings of single coins, each a circle holding a ruler's profile head, a seated deity with shield and Nike, or Greek lettering around the rim, useful as ready-made roundels, seal motifs and classical profile silhouettes.
