The chess-players' manual : containing the laws of the game according to the revised code laid down by the British Chess Association in 1862
A chess instruction manual by G. H. D. Gossip with S. Lipschütz, published by D. McKay in Philadelphia in 1902, setting out the British Chess Association's 1862 code of laws for club and amateur players. The plates are printed board diagrams: hatched dark squares under small engraved kings, queens, knights, bishops, rooks and pawns, usable as grid patterns, game-piece silhouettes and repeating checkered fields.
