David Lear Buckman's 1907 history of Hudson River steam navigation, published by the Grafton Press in New York for general readers and river enthusiasts, collects anecdotes from the decades after Fulton. Halftone photographs and engraved broadside views show sidewheel and walking-beam steamers in profile against flat water, useful for silhouettes, paddle-box lettering, smokestack and mast rigging, and flags.
