Francesco Bartolozzi, R.A.;
A 1907 London monograph by J. T. Herbert Bailey and Hans Wolfgang Singer on the Italian-born engraver Francesco Bartolozzi (1727–1815), issued by Otto Limited for print collectors and connoisseurs. The 104 plates reproduce his stipple and crayon-manner engravings in sanguine and sepia, mostly oval-framed classical and mythological figure groups, nudes, putti and portrait heads, giving designers soft dotted tonal shading, oval borders and drapery studies.
