Catalogue of the National museum of Arab art
A museum handbook to the collections of the National Museum of Arab Art in Cairo, written by its architect-curator Max Herz, edited by Stanley Lane-Poole and issued in London by Bernard Quaritch in 1896 for scholars, collectors and travellers. The two plates indexed here come from the trade advertising bound into the volume: a diamond-shaped woollen-goods trade mark with bearded portrait medallion, banners and shield, and a wood-engraved fireproof safe with its door swung open on a bank of ring-pull drawers, both useful as period lettering-in-banner devices and hatched product line art.
