Astronomy for students and general readers
A general astronomy textbook by Simon Newcomb with Edward S. Holden, published in New York by Henry Holt in 1880 for college students and lay readers. Its figures are white-line geometric diagrams printed as negatives on solid black grounds: celestial spheres with lettered meridians, orbital and parallax constructions, and star-marked circles usable as ready-made dark-field graphics.
