Six Greek sculptors
Ernest Arthur Gardner's 1910 survey of Greek sculpture, published in London by Duckworth and in New York by Scribner, treats six named masters for students and general readers of classical art. The 85 halftone plates show marble heads, busts and full figures photographed against black, giving designers isolated silhouettes, strong chiaroscuro on carved curls and drapery, and weathered stone surfaces.
