General statistics of cities: 1916, including statistics of parks, playgrounds, museums and art galleries, zoological collections, music and entertainments, swimming pools and bathing beaches, and other features of the recreation service
A U.S. Bureau of the Census statistical report on municipal recreation services, compiled by Starke M. Grogan, Arthur J. Hirsch and Lemuel A. Carruthers and printed by the Government Printing Office in Washington in 1917 for city officials and administrators. The plates are the Department of Commerce seal, with eagle, shield and full-rigged ship, and a dotted outline map of states marking cities over 30,000 — usable as line-art emblems and plain cartographic bases.
