Simple art applied to handwork
A 1915 craft manual by Herbert A. Rankin, published in New York by E.P. Dutton, teaching stencil and applied design to schoolteachers and handwork students. The plates are stencilled floral panels in flat opaque color, with bridged cut lines, visible brush stipple and cream paper showing through: repeating roses, lilies, chrysanthemum leaves and border strips ready for pattern or endpaper use.
