The Priscilla Battenberg and point lace book; a collection of lace stitches with working directions for braid laces
A 1912 instruction manual of Battenberg and point lace stitches, compiled by Nellie Clarke Brown for the Priscilla Publishing Company in Boston and sold to home needleworkers. The plates are stark black-and-white line diagrams of loops, chains and filling stitches worked across gridded fabric borders, usable as geometric ornament, repeating net patterns and frame motifs.
