Report of the Committee on leather for bookbinding
A technical committee report issued in 1905 by the Royal Society of Arts with the Leathersellers' Company in London, addressed to binders, tanners and librarians concerned with the decay of bookbinding leather. Its plates are mounted leather test strips photographed against black, pairing exposed and unexposed halves in cream, apricot, orange and deep red — usable as color fields, gradient bands and swatch grids.
