Practical conjuring
A 1911 English manual of magic tricks by James Carl, written for amateur performers who wanted to work up a parlour or stage act. The plates are stark ink outline drawings of paired hands locked into positions that cast shadow-alphabet letters, each keyed by a small serif capital, with occasional hatching for shade; useful as clean hand silhouettes, gesture studies, and a full set of letterform diagrams.
