Porcelain, its nature, art and manufacture
A technical and historical survey of porcelain by ceramic chemist William Burton, published in London by B.T. Batsford in 1906 for collectors, potters and museum students. Halftone plates photograph single pieces against plain grounds: jugs, plates and bowls carrying painted landscape cartouches, rococo scrollwork, scattered insects and floral sprays, useful as silhouettes, ornament motifs and framing shapes.
