Problems in Periclean buildings
A 1912 Princeton University Press monograph by George Wicker Elderkin on construction problems in the Propylaea and Erechtheum, written for classical archaeologists and students of Greek architecture. The halftone plates are close photographs of marble masonry — joints, drafted margins, rough-picked block faces, cuttings and rubble fill — usable as high-contrast stone textures and studies of light raking across cut edges.
