Rugs in their native land
A 1916 travel and collecting account of Oriental carpets by Edith Eliza Norton, published in New York by Dodd, Mead for American buyers and amateur students of rugs. The plates are full-field photographs of prayer rugs and long carpets reproduced in color, showing mihrab niches, zigzag and rosette borders, latch-hook lattices and repeating floral rows in red, indigo, cream and ochre, usable as flat pattern, border strips and palette references.
