Curios and relics. Campaign & patriotic materials

Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection · 1904 · 26 pictures

A file of photographs and clippings on Abraham Lincoln campaign and patriotic relics, assembled for the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection and dated to 1904, kept as documentation for collectors and researchers rather than as a published narrative. The pictures are coarse halftones and newspaper reproductions of surviving 19th-century American flags: men holding stained, frayed banners with irregular hand-sewn star fields, a framed flag with an inset portrait medallion, and flat graphic plates of star-and-stripe arrangements useful as heavy-grain textures, star patterns, and stencil-like flag silhouettes.
