Cyclomathesis : or, An easy introduction to the several branches of the mathematics; being principally designed for the instruction of young students, before they enter upon the more abtruse and difficult parts thereof
William Emerson's Cyclomathesis, printed in London by J. Nourse in 1763, is a multi-volume mathematics course written for young students before they take up harder material. The plates are crowded copperplate grids of numbered geometric diagrams — circles, semicircles, triangles, parabolic curves, lettered vertices, dashed construction lines, ray bundles — usable as line-art texture, technical ornament, or fragments of diagrammatic pattern.
