Cyclopedia of painters and paintings
A four-volume art reference edited by John Denison Champlin and Charles C. Perkins, published by Scribner's in New York in 1913 for collectors, students and museum-goers. Its pen-and-ink cuts are mostly head-and-shoulders portraits of painters copied from self-portraits, plus small reproductions of pictures — usable as line-drawn faces, hair and drapery for portrait stock.
