Cyclopedia of painters and paintings
A four-volume alphabetical reference on painters and their works, edited by John Denison Champlin with Charles C. Perkins, published by Scribner's in New York, 1913, for collectors, students, and gallery-goers. The plates run to small pen-and-ink head-and-shoulders portraits of artists, hatched and stippled from paintings and photographs, plus line copies of pictures, monograms, and signatures usable as vignettes or stamps.
