Dactyliothecae, seu Annulorum sigillarium quorum priscos tam Graecos quam Romanos usus, ex ferro, aere, argento & auro promptuarii ... Collectis aliunde & ineditis & editis annulorum figuris auctior;
A Latin antiquarian catalogue of ancient Greek and Roman signet rings and engraved gems, assembled by Abraham van Goorle (Gorlaeus) and reissued with additions by Jacobus Gronovius in Leiden by Pieter van der Aa in 1695 for scholars and gem collectors. Each plate pairs numbered circular enlargements of intaglio designs — gods, birds, goats, altars, profile heads — on a draped scroll above the rings themselves drawn in perspective on hatched stone ledges, with abbreviated captions naming metal and stone; useful for roundel emblems, small figural motifs and ring silhouettes.
